Fourth Grade

In fourth grade, students have made the transition from learning to read, to reading to learn. Reading is an important skill for learning new content in all subject areas. Students use knowledge of different types of letter patterns to help read unfamiliar words and look at word parts to help determine the meaning of new words. Fourth grade students think critically about text and make connections through writing and speaking. Help your child become a strong reader by developing strong reader habits and practicing the skills below.
